Tuesday

It's snowing!!!

I woke up this morning to an email from Bob :) He's made it to Al Asad safely. He said the food on the way over wasn't so great (goat meat and 'a strange cheese') and he wasn't able to get me anything from Amsterdam, which is disappointing. But he's there and this year can finally start!
I got my care package kit in the mail today so I'm going to start putting the first one together. I probably won't go out to send it because Lord knows people can't drive in snow around here. I also got the calender I ordered for him which I'm attaching a picture of. Still in transit are a bunch of prints I ordered from my last photo sesh with Whitney to hang in the house.
Last night I went to Faith's for Chinese food & a movie. We had a really good time, she's such a nice person. Tomorrow I'm going to go on base to get our taxes done and go to Jennifer's for the day. Then I *think* this weekend I'm going to a movie with Faith & Buffy - Faith said Bride Wars is playing and I want to see it.
I find it interesting and possibly ironic that Bob got to Iraq the day our new president was sworn into office. It will be very interesting to see the direction Obama takes our troops currently overseas.

The day is only half over so you may hear from me again :)

Love you, Ski!

Thanks for your comment on my post! I'm excited for it. By the way, I'm Nicole, and I found you through the OHO boards. I figured you might want to know that, so you don't think I'm a creepy stalkerish type person. I was just excited to find someone else at Cherry Point. :)

It's not too bad here. I'm always looking for something to do, and I haven't quite found anything yet. According to my husband, Walmart is really the only place to go, but I refuse to believe that. I think there might be some place fun here, I just haven't found it yet! But, we have fun going to New Bern and Morehead City sometimes.

We were in downtown New Bern once to go to a bridal shop to buy my wedding dress(I got married pretty recently, in December), and I remember thinking it looked like it had a lot of cool shops and restaurants. I think I would get a kick out of painting pottery, but I don't know if my husband would. Only if he could paint a plane on it, maybe. :) My hubby is with VMA-542. What unit is your hubby with? Sorry to hear he is deployed for so long! :-\

You're going to make me cry! It was nice to see SOMETHING - but you should see how everybody freaked out. State of emergency, everything closed...psh.
